Balderton Village Day Nursery

Overview

Our setting is accesible to all being all on one level. We have a homely environment for the children, with three separate rooms for the children to explore. Our Discovery Room is for children aged 6 weeks up to 2 years, The Explorer Room, is for aged 2 to 3 and our Creative Room is our Pre-School room catering for children aged 3 plus. The children do blend amongst the rooms to act as role models for the other children.

We have a structured routine which flows through all of the rooms, with set times for snack, lunch and tea, with planned and child led activities in between including outdoor play and walks in our local area. The Creative Room children have access to free flow areas to build on their independence and learn boundaries. Out in the garden we have a rabbit which children help to take responsibility of daily feeding and watering.

We use the local businesses as much as possible, including the fruit and vegetable shop for fresh produce and a local butcher for home cooked meals. We have a seasonal menu, which we update every 6 months. This is on a 4 week rotation. We cater for all dietary requirements including allergies and cultural needs.

We strive to create a warm and nurturing environment in which children feel physically and emotionally safe. We create a homely atmosphere in which all staff know the children and every child's individual needs are accepted, valued and met in order to support each child reaching their full potential. We also aid in developing their practical skills that they will need as they grow up.

We work with parents to ensure that their child is happy and settled in the environment. We offer two free settling in sessions for your child where a key practioner will be allocated depending on who they bond with in that time. The key practitioner will be available to parents if needed to talk about any concerns or wishes. We provide regular updates on our online child development journal, and termly parent afternoons about your child's development.
