Job Description
Several Personal Assistants are required to support an older gentleman living at home in Kirkby-In-Ashfield, NG17.
He has reduced mobility following a stroke and uses equipment within the home (including a stairlift and commode). He also has hearing difficulties, so clear communication (including written prompts where helpful) is important.
The role focuses on maintaining comfort, safety, and day-to-day wellbeing at home, while working alongside a family member and helping to reduce their caring responsibilities.
Support required includes:
* Personal care (washing, dressing, and bedtime routine)
* Toileting support and continence care
* Assistance with transfers and short-distance mobility within the home
* Skin checks and general monitoring to maintain comfort
* Routine daily support in line with established care needs
Requirements
* Experience in providing personal care and supporting people with mobility needs
* Confident with transfers and use of care equipment (or willing to follow established routines)
* Able to communicate clearly and adapt communication methods where needed
* Reliable and able to commit to a consistent call pattern
* Able to work sensitively alongside a family member in the home
Calls and visits
Total: 11 hours per week
3 calls per day (morning, lunch, and evening), each 30 minutes
Friday morning call is 1 hour to include bathing support
