ASKLiON Website Accessibility Statement

This website (www.asklion.co.uk) is run by Nottingham City Council, using content added by local providers of services. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 150% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We are also in the process of making the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

We are committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website and its design elements are HTML5 and CSS3 compliant and aim to be compliant with Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard.

Browser support

This website is designed and tested to work on the two most recent versions of all major desktop web browsers.

Mobile support

This website is built with Bootstrap, a popular open source framework that uses responsive design to change the page layout for different screen sizes.

Non-accessible content

Third party apps such as NHS widgets or embedded adverts may not conform.

Some PDFs and Word documents do not meet accessibility standards, for example, they may not be structured so they are accessible to a screen reader. We are working to ensure that all future documents are compliant. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they are not essential to providing our services.
