New Adult Social Care Training & Development Fund
DHSC has published guidance for the new Adult Social Care Training and Development Fund. The fund includes over £50m to support up to 37,000 individuals to enrol onto the new Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate qualification in addition to funding for a range of other learning and development opportunities.
The guidance covers:
- the eligibility criteria for being able to make claims through the fund
- how the funding can be used, including the courses and qualifications within scope of the fund
- when the funding will be available
- the fund reimbursement rates
- the transition arrangements from the Workforce Development Fund
- details on how adult social care employers will be able to make a claim
Grant Funding For International Employees
- Was your sponsor licence granted on, or after 1st April 2023?
- Do you have international employees that you hired on, or after 1st April 2023?
- Have you, or are you considering applying for a sponsor licence?
- Have you hired any displaced talent since October 2023?
You can claim up to £2,500 towards the cost of your sponsor licence, and any administration costs incurred. £250 per recruit towards their cost of living, training and development, resettlement costs etc To support the costs of hiring displaced talent, £665.50 per recruit is available towards the cost of CoS Licence, and the Skills Charge for three years.

Digital Capital Grant
Nottingham City Council acknowledges the significance of improving digital skills among its residents. The council identifies a shortage of accessible, high-quality digital spaces for residents to utilise.
Nottingham City Council will utilise capital funding from its UK Shared Prosperity Fund to enhance community venues, facilities, and digital services for its users. The Digital Capital Grant aims to assist Nottingham’s community organisations in purchasing the much-needed equipment to allow and ensure that local residents are engaging in essential life skills as well as being able to access accredited lifelong learning courses.
The Digital Capital Grant will enable local community organisations to bid for a minimum of £10,000 up to a maximum of £15,000, which can only be utilised to procure digital equipment.
General Eligibility Criteria
- Be located within, or deliver your services within the administrative area covered by Nottingham City Council
- Be a Community Interest Company (CIC), Company Limited by Guarantee, Social Enterprise, Registered charity, Public body which delivers or hosts community projects or a constituted body, Not a private company or business
- Have the relevant permissions required from your landlord (this includes all Nottingham City Council Owed buildings) before your application is submitted (if written permissions are not presented with your application submission, your application will not be reviewed and scored)

East Midland International Recruitment Funding

MUCH CAN I CLAIM?
During Round 1, up to £250 per recruit is available, this is to a maximum of 10% of your workforce, or 10 staff (whichever is lower). Additional funding is to be confirmed. Further criteria on eligibility will be available soon, along with how to apply.

In addition to financial support, each region will have dedicated Pastoral Support who will:
Gather local information on community & faith groups; specialist food retailers; registering with GPs/ Dentists/ Schools etc - including distributing Welcome Packs to new recruits

Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set Service (ASC-WDS)
The free Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) service helps providers to manage their teams and provides crucial intelligence to key decision makers such as Government, DHSC, CQC and local authorities. ASC-WDS provides access to funding for training, safe and free management of staff and training records and the ability to benchmark your workplace against similar providers. Users will also gain special offers and discounts from Skills for Care and some endorsed training providers.
Workforce Development Fund - Now Open
The Workforce Development Fund (WDF) is open to adult social care employers in England to support the development of their staff at all levels, offering funding for a wide range of qualifications, learning programmes and digital learning modules.
This year the WDF will continue to provide additional support to registered managers and frontline managers as this is key to providing quality care and supporting the workforce. Enhanced funding will continue to be available for the completion of leadership and management qualifications, learning programmes and digital learning modules.

Residential and Nursing Care Home Accreditation Process - Ongoing, providers can join at any time
If you are opening a care home within the Nottingham City or Nottinghamshire County region, or you would like to provide continuing healthcare services for adults over 18, your organisation can apply for a contract with Nottingham City Council and Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
Providers can apply to deliver these services by registering and completing the information via www.eastmidstenders.org.

Care at Home Accreditation Process - Ongoing, the accreditation list is open every 6 months
Nottingham City Council have an accreditation process for homecare providers who wish to supply services to the Council.
To be eligible for the accredited list a homecare organisation must:
- Have a local base within 15 miles of Nottingham City.
- Be CQC registered.
- Have already received a visit from the CQC.
- Have a CQC rating above inadequate.
