There’s no shame in getting help from other people. Some services need a referral, but others are open to anyone in need of help. Food banks provide parcels to residents in receipt of a referral, which often takes the form of a voucher. Referrals are made by a variety of professionals supporting individuals and families in difficult circumstances, such as:
- Advice Centres Offering Debt & Financial Advice
- Nottingham City Council's Welfare Rights Service
- Children’s Centres
- Framework - Homelessness Prevention
- Housing Providers - Nottingham Private Rented Assistance Scheme (NPRAS) & Nottingham City Homes (NCH)
- Social Workers
- Health Visitors & Other Healthcare Professionals
- Police Officers
- Neighbourhood Development Officers
- Employment Advisors
