Independent at home

Staying within a familiar environment is important to many people but there may come a time when some additional support and help at home is needed.

This could be help with shopping or cleaning or help with elements of personal care such as washing and dressing.   It could also include having adaptations made to your home so that it is possible for you to remain there for longer.  If you’ve had a stay in hospital and are ready to be discharged, getting extra support might help to boost your recovery, re-build your confidence, and so give you a better chance of living safely at home again.

This page has a number of different key categories that may be relevant when considering care at home and the type of advice and support on offer.

Please also see our Support for Independent Living page which will provide you with a list of services, equipment and technology that can keep you safe and well at home.
