Local Offer

Description

Children’s Centres offer provision for under 5’s and their families, they form part of the 0-19 services provided by Early Help Teams.

Services are inclusive to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Each Children’s Centre has a timetable of activities and provision that can be downloaded from this site. The provision is accessible to families and their children in addition to the universal sessions there are more specialist services and activities that can be accessed to support children with their individual needs. They include:

  • Sensory rooms and equipment
  • Toy libraries
  • Reading schemes and early literacy
  • Support and networking groups

To find out what your local Children’s Centre has to offer please contact them for more details, a member of the team will be able to speak to you about your child’s individual needs and requirements and ensure that you are supported to access the provision you are interested in.

Children’s Centres are committed in providing a broad and balanced curriculum of activities and believe that all children have the right to:

  • access universal provision
  • access funded education places within local childcare provision, nurseries and schools
  • gain support with transition into settings
  • receive support to reach their full potential and achieve their best
  • become confident individuals and live fulfilling lives
  • wishes and feels taken into consideration in the planning of the provision and decisions that will affect them
