Early Help Family Support Clinics

What is an Early Help Family Support Clinic?

Family Support Clinics are run by Family Support Workers who will support you in getting the right support at the right time. Family Support Clinics take place face to face in a children’s centre or via a telephone appointment. Dependant on individual worries and concerns, Family Support Clinics can take up to one hour of your time. Appointments will be booked at a time that suits you.

What can I get support with?

  • Child development
  • Children’s Behaviour
  • Parenting
  • Sleep
  • Parental conflict
  • Parental wellbeing

Please note other support is available based on individual need and circumstances

How do I access a Family Support Clinic?

You can either go into to your local Children’s centre and self-refer by completing an Early Help Family Support Booking Form, or contact your local Children’s Centre by telephone and request a Early Help Family Support Booking Form. A member of staff will complete the form with you over the phone. Once you have completed a booking form, a Family Support Worker will contact you to arrange a convenient time to take part in a Family Support Clinic.

What can I expect at a Family Support Clinic?

During your appointment you will meet with a Family Support Worker who will listen to your worries and concerns, give advice and discuss what family support is available to you. The Family Support Worker will share Nottingham City Council’s privacy notice, support you in completing a Children’s Centre registration form and complete a Signs of Safety (SOS) Assessment. A SOS assessment looks at what is going well for you and your family, what your worries are, and what needs to happen going forward.
