Djanogly Community Orchestra
The Djanogly Community Orchestra is a friendly amateur orchestra based in Nottingham. We rehearse on Monday evenings, and usually perform three concerts per year in local venues around Nottingham.
Our music is varied - including pieces for full orchestra (often from the romantic period) or for a reduced orchestra (e.g. strings-and-woodwind). We occasionally perform works involving a local choir, and particularly enjoy concertos (frequently using local young musicians) - which provides inspiration to all of us.
The orchestra was established in 1988 with support from Sir Harry Djanogly and rehearsal facilities at the Djanogly Learning Trust site on Sherwood Rise.
As a large amateur orchestra we often have vacancies. Some are permanent due to turnover as members pursue their careers, some are for a specific piece requiring extra instruments, or sometimes to cover short term 'gaps' when a regular member is temporarily unavailable. We can almost always use more strings. We would welcome expressions of interest from anyone, so if you are interested in finding out more visit the Djanogly Community Orchestra website
The Orchestra does not have a phone number so please email us at chairman@djanoglycommunityorchestra.co.uk
