Notts Rainbow Heritage

Celebrates Nottinghamshire’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) lives, hidden history and culture.

Nottinghamshire’s Rainbow Heritage started in January 2008. It was initially sponsored for the first three years by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We have organised events: exhibitions; displays; workshops and training. Many of the events coincide with either Nottingham Pride Festival (each July) and LGBT History Month (each February).

We have gathered audio and video recordings of LGBT people’s experiences and opinions and also artefacts and memorabilia: photos, badges, flyers for events, newspaper cuttings, documents from social/support groups etc Much of our work is archived on our website
