Our Children’s Centres offer a range of advice and support across the city. Trained Family Support Workers offer targeted intervention to families who need support with concerns including:
- Children’s behaviour
- Arguing / fighting with partner
- Housing issues
- Children not listening
Please note support is available based on individual need and circumstances.
There are 5 key interventions we offer to families. These include Family Support Clinics, Triple P, Peep, Freedom and Sleep tight. More information about each type of intervention can be found by clicking the following links:
As well as services offered by Early Help our children’s centre buildings are used by our partner agencies who offer a range of activities and support including:
- City Care (0-19 Public Health Nursing Service)
- Peer support groups
- Nottingham College
- Lily and Co. day nurseries
- Greenfields nurseries
- Early Years Alliance nursery
- Behavioural and Emotional Health Team
- Parenting team
Please note the agencies that offer support from our children’s centre building differ depending on location.

Children’s Centres offer provision for under 5’s and their families, they form part of the 0-19 services provided by Early Help Teams.
Services are inclusive to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Each Children’s Centre has a timetable of activities and provision that can be downloaded from this site. The provision is accessible to families and their children in addition to the universal sessions there are more specialist services and activities that can be accessed to support children with their individual needs. They include:
- Sensory rooms and equipment
- Toy libraries
- Reading schemes and early literacy
- Support and networking groups

Children’s Centres are committed in providing a broad and balanced curriculum of activities and believe that all children have the right to:
- access universal provision
- access funded education places within local childcare provision, nurseries and schools
- gain support with transition into settings
- receive support to reach their full potential and achieve their best
- become confident individuals and live fulfilling lives
- wishes and feels taken into consideration in the planning of the provision and decisions that will affect them
The Children’s Centre promotes the welfare and development of all children that accesses its provision within each setting in partnership with parents and other relevant agencies.
