The Bridges Community Trust is dedicated to serving the community to provide better services and facilities.

Food Bank  We issue food bank vouchers on behalf of the Trussell Trust. Vouchers can be exchanged for food and essential household items and are available to collect Tuesdays & Fridays from 9:30 until 13:00.   Click here to find out more about food banks in your area, opening times, and how to donate.   If you want more information about help with food in your area, you can contact any of the support services below that you are involved with:   Social Worker/ Youth Services Housing Support Probation Officer  Substance Abuse Support Services  Community support warden Health Care Providers  GP's Practice  Child’s school/nursery  

Employment   16- 24 year olds Nottingham Works 4 You  Nottingham Works 4 You, part of Nottingham Works, supports 16-24 year olds who are actively looking for work but who need additional support to find suitable job vacancies, complete job applications and prepare for interviews. There is also a focus on increasing confidence, developing key employability skills and providing work experience. Participants may also access funding for interview clothes, travel passes and costs to cover childcare.   If you are a Nottingham City resident, aged between 16-24 and would like to apply for our employment support programme or would like to refer someone who could benefit from our service, please click the button below and fill out your details!   Nottingham Works 4 You is part-funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund (ESF).  

Over 25'sABG The Area Based Grant employment programme was set up to support meadows and Clifton residents over the age of 25 who are unemployed and would like help getting back in to work, education or training. ABG aims to improve confidence in job searching and applications, effective interview techniques and developing essential employability skills. If you would like to apply for our employment support programme or would like to refer someone who could benefit from our service, please click the button below and fill out your details and a member of our team will get back to you!  This program is available to Meadows and Clifton residents over the age of 25

Connected 2

Do you need helping using a phone, tablet or laptop?The Connected2 project works with The Meadows and Clifton residents, providing free training to improve digital skills. Our support is aimed at people who have never used a computer or the internet before, through to those who want to brush up on Microsoft Excel and Word.  We offer tailor-made support and work to teach you the skills you would like to learn.  Previous sessions have included; 

  • how to turn on a computer 
  • how to use a mouse and keyboard
  • using video calling apps like Zoom
  • online shopping and banking
  • accessing social media and emails

 We offer:

  • Classroom-based lessons from our office in the Meadows.
  • Remote lessons so you can learn at home, with 121 support from a volunteer.
  • Small loan service to help those who do not have a device to learn on (Laptops or tablets)

Pride

We want to encourage pride in ownership and responsibility in the greater Meadows community.

Partnership

The Meadows belongs to you and we want to work with local organisations and the general public to create a partnership for local groups supporting and developing public, private and voluntary activity.

IT Services Wi-Fi: We have FREE Wi-Fi access with unlimited fast broadband provided by Virgin Media.  Username and Password are displayed within the reception area, please ask if you need help connecting.   Telephone: We offer FREE use of our telephone, for use in job searches and benefit related enquires.    Photocopying/Printing: We are able to copy in colour/black & white, enlarge/reduce (A3/A5) and print documents.  Laminating in A4/A3 sizes.  A modest fee is charged for various services, please speak to us to find out more.   Computer: We have PCs for browsing the web and email.  All machines have Microsoft Office installed and are connected to a printer.  You may use a memory stick to bring or take documents.     Help & Advice Our team are on hand to help you where possible. We work with various local organisations in order to provide the support you need, whether that  be debt advice, help with clothing or furniture or victim support, we will signpost you to the relevant service.   Please see below a few of the support services we work with.   Sharewear support families by providing emergency clothing. To refer someone for this service or to find out more information, please visit here.   The Meadows Advice Group can support local residents with debt management, housing and benefits. Find out more on how they can support you here.   The Arches works with families to provide furniture, clothing and food in times of emergency. If you or someone you know is in need of this service, please let us know and our staff will make a referral.
