ArtSpeak - The Art of Stillness - Mindfulness Walks
Join us for a relaxed and thoughtful walk as we invite you to practice being in the present moment. Together we’ll amble throughout the park and incorporate a range of soothing activities including arts-based activities to help you stay mindful and learn ways to continue to incorporate this into your everyday life.
What does presence/mindfulness mean to you?
Mindfulness is a basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing and not overly reactive to what is going on around us.
Practicing mindfulness has proven benefits to calm the body, relieve chronic pain, reduce anxiety, decrease stress, and help regulate our emotions.
Things you might like to bring:
It’s not necessary to bring anything but we will be encouraging you to doodle, write and capture some of the things you notice so you might like to bring a notebook and pencil or pen. We’ll have some small clipboards, paper and pens for you to use too.
There’ll also be the chance to try out some photography so bring a camera/camera phone if you’d like.
We’ll end the session with a social element and have a drink together so invite you to bring a flask or water bottle.
Please note, we will be walking down to and around the woodland area of the park. The ground can be steep and uneven in parts. Please get in touch with us or detail any access requirements you would like us to be aware of at the time of booking and we can alter the route accordingly.
The meeting point for this walk is in front of the Woodthorpe Grange Lodge. Contact ArtSpeak on 07579067442 on the day if you can’t spot us.
This is a FREE event.
Sessions take place monthly on Friday mornings, 11:00 - 12:00. Dates vary.
