Assistive Technology Service
So what is Assistive Technology? - It is any piece of technology that helps people of all ages (and potentially their family/friend/careers and medical professionals) manage their health and wellbeing. This can be something as simple as a night light to help prevent falls in the dark or a text message that prompts someone to remember their medication. It could also be in the form of a care alarm, linked to our monitoring centre at Nottingham on Call, for emergencies or reassurance and in some circumstances, a mobile response service
We have been the main pendant and alarm service in the city of Nottingham for many years. Nottingham on Call is now the lead for delivering an integrated assistive technology (AT) service.
This integrated AT service, is about delivering a single service to citizens to support them with a wide range of social and/or health needs. This is done by using a clever combination of a 24/7 call monitoring and response service, dedicated and knowledgeable staff and the use of state of the art technology and aids, to promote and support independent living, whist offering support and reassurance to family/friend/carers, in the knowledge that their loved ones will be safe at home.
Nottingham on Call has approximately 9,000 users connected at any one time and takes around 30,000 calls per month. As well as providing equipment installation and alert monitoring services and where applicable, a response service, we also provide a lone worker service.

If we cannot immediately find a solution, we have a Assistive Technology Research and Development Officer, who is constantly researching the marketing and looking at new an innovative equipment that can support citizens, so it is worth contacting the service to see if we can help and support you at home.
