All of the rooms in Acorn House also feature a call bell system, so someone is always on hand to help if it’s needed.

There are plenty of places to socialise throughout our home, from the spacious dining areas and lounges where our residents can socialise with new friends, to our on-site cafe which is the perfect place to relax when friends and family visit. We’ve also got hairdressing facilities so our residents can look and feel their best, and there’s lots of quiet spots around the home for relaxing, including areas with floor-to-ceiling windows, giving beautiful views of our outside areas.

Secure landscaped gardens surround our home, along with a sensory garden so our residents and their visitors can sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Residential Care

Our residential care offers maximum independence and privacy, combined with plenty of opportunities to socialise. We offer care that is designed so residents can lead an active life, but with the reassurance that there is 24hour care and support.

Respite Care

Offering the same level of care as long-term residents, respite care is the perfect option if you’re recovering from illness or just need some time out. Those staying for respite care will still benefit from all the same facilities and services, and it is also a way to give potential residents the opportunity to try the home before making a permanent move.

Dementia Care

We offer specialist care for residents living with dementia. Our facilities allow as much independence as possible while maintaining close relationships with residents to build activities to suit their needs. We offer the familiarity and continuity of care that is essential with such a complex condition, all delivered in a dignified and unobtrusive way.

Activities

Many of our residents agree that their time at Acorn House has given them the chance to explore new hobbies, widen their social circle and rediscover their zest for life.

At Acorn House, taking part in group activities is always encouraged. Our activities coordinators are always on hand to put together a fun and engaging calendar that’s built around our residents’ individual wants and interests.

We want our residents to chat about what they love to do when they join us, and if there’s anything they want to learn or try; from flower arranging, to yoga, movie nights and music sessions, it is their home, after all.

The heart of our home is most definitely the dining area. We pride ourselves in producing freshly prepared meals with every taste and dietary requirement catered for, while making sure everyone gets the nutrition they need for the best possible health.

Our head chef and team of talented cooks use ingredients sourced locally, wherever possible, producing dishes that we know our residents love, from the ultimate classic, fish and chips, to delicious Thai curries.
