Autism Advocacy Service
We are a charity ran for and by Autistic adults without intellectual disabilities (also known as those with High Functioning Autism or Aspergers Syndrome). We now offer an advocacy service for Autistic adults within the Nottingham/shire area. An Advocate can support you with issues/situations where you are struggling to get your voice heard, this can include (but not limited to):
- Benefit applications, assessment & appeals
- Complaints
- Negotiating reasonable adjustments (whether this is in employment, education, healthcare .etc)
Advocates are not support workers, and cannot work with individuals on a long term supportive basis. We encourage you to get in touch if you're unsure about whether advocacy is appropriate for you, as we'd be happy to point you in the right direction if we cannot help.
