Sharing Sherwood is a monthly social eating meal in Sherwood, Nottingham.
Volunteers cook up surplus food that would have otherwise been thrown away from supermarkets into a delicious 3 course vegetarian/vegan meal. Meals cost a suggested donation of £2.50 adults, £1.50 kids.
The meals run on the 2nd Sunday of the month, 6pm at Sherwood Methodist Church. All profits at the end of the year are donated to Nottingham foodbanks. The project aims to make the link between food waste and food poverty. Each month there are either speakers on these topics or entertainers who perform. Alongside a meal, attendees can also pick up and take home surplus food that volunteers have not been able to cook, for a donation. Allergies can be catered for if informed in advance. The menu changes each month and is decided on the day however there are many dishes available and something for everyone.
