Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS)
Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service
Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS) is an infrastructure organisation that works to strengthen and sustain the voluntary sector across Nottingham and the neighbouring area. Our vision is a thriving voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) in Nottingham that improves the quality of people's lives in the city.
By developing resilient partnerships with public, private and voluntary organisations, NCVS strives to offer city-wide support services to community and voluntary groups; provide a central strategic voice for the voluntary sector and increase the scale, quality and impact of volunteering in Nottingham.
We support the sector through:
- Volunteering: Improving the quality of volunteering and breadth of volunteering opportunities across the city;
- Voluntary sector development: Strengthening the voluntary sector’s capacity to help its clients through promoting best practice, funding advice and training;
- Voices: Speaking up for the voluntary sector on issues crucial to its future, and increasing the sector’s access to, and influence upon, decision makers.

Strategic Voice
We facilitate a number of networks that exist to share information and provide voluntary sector representation at key meetings across the City in order to influence decision making. NCVS networks encourage co-production with all stakeholders and act as a channel for a strong strategic voice that enables us to champion the place of the voluntary sector in Nottingham City.
