Yoga For Everybody: Classes & 121 tuition And / Or Therapy

I am a qualified Teacher and Yoga Teacher & Therapy Practitioner with the Association for Yoga Studies (aYs) recognised and accredited by The British Wheel of Yoga. The British Wheel of Yoga is recognised by Sport England as the governing body of yoga in Britain. My qualifications underpin my commitment to teaching yoga as a member of the Nottingham Teacher Training School; for Leicestershire County Council as part of the Health and Wellbeing programme and the Workers’ Educational Association WEA Adult Learning.

I maintain my professional status with practice and research of Yoga for Osteoporosis online with Dr. Loren Fishman, MD, BPhil (Oxon), medical director of Manhattan Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in New York City. He is a world-recognised pioneer in the treatment of low back pain, piriformis syndrome, osteoporosis and other conditions who incorporates yoga into his regular treatment protocols for osteoporosis. I continue to study as part of my professional development with senior teachers within the aYs.

Regionally and locally, I teach small, therapeutic classes and one to one yoga tuition and therapy. This is the application of yoga practices for health and healing in order to alleviate many common ailments and those associated with osteoporosis. Each week there is a simple, step by step guided practice where we work on a variety of postures which are modified and adapted to suit individual needs.

My aim is to bring yoga to the community respecting the differences in age, gender, mental and physical conditions, culture and religion.

Other notes

I have a special interest in teaching Yoga for Osteoporosis. Examples of yoga’s relationship to osteoporosis include gentle, low-impact movements; breathing techniques and relaxation ideal for those with osteopenia, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. These will help to widen range of motion; improve strength; refine balance; enhance co-ordination; improve posture; lower anxiety and reduce falls - all important for adults with osteoporosis.
