Portland College

Portland College is a national charitable independent specialist college offering education and training to young people aged 16 to 25 with a wide range of disabilities.

Situated on the outskirts of Mansfield in the heart of Sherwood Forest, Portland offers a range of courses and all the support and advice you will need - you will be sure to find a course to help you move closer to achieving your goals and ambitions whatever they may be. We also have a city centre campus in the centre of Nottingham providing the same outstanding educational offer.

What’s on offer?

The college offers bespoke programmes of education and training, created and tailored to each young disabled person. Our provision ranges widely from a sensory level curriculum through to levels 2 or 3 qualifications. Our education is underpinned with multi-disciplinary support including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy, all within the grounds of our campus.

How do we do this?

The support offered is individually tailored for each learner based on their needs, aspirations and interests, enabling them to achieve the best possible outcomes for learning and transition into adult life.

With excellent teaching and learning provided by experienced and committed staff, you will have access to some of the best facilities and resources in the East Midlands. We also have a dedicated Behaviour Support Manager working solely on keeping students safe and happy while at College.

Other options

Portland College also offers Short-Stay Breaks, Independent Living Programmes, Assisted Living Programmes and Day Centre Services. This can be part of an education programme or as a way to increase independence after education has come to an end.
