Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) Fully Funded Support Offer for all providers

Nottingham City Council has been awarded funding from 3 separate bodies to deliver cyber-security training to SME care providers within the D2N2 (Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire) area, incorporating completion of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT). This self-certification document acts as a checklist to ensure that providers have a comprehensive understanding of their responsibilities around cyber security and secure data handling. It is also a mandatory requirement for access to NHS Mail.

Recognising the pressures that social care providers are currently under, we have designed a process to make Toolkit completion as quick and simple as possible in advance of it potentially becoming a mandatory requirement for providers who engage with their local authority. Toolkit completion demonstrates to the CQC and to service users that responsibilities in this area are understood and complied with.

Commercial assistance with Toolkit completion ranges in price but can be prohibitively expensive. It is our view that providers would be sensible to work with us to achieve Toolkit submission whilst it is fully funded by the Better Security, Better Care project.
