Children's Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service

 Who we are

The Safeguarding and Quality Assurance service area is comprised of a number of distinct services most of which have a direct safeguarding focus. Whilst each of the different elements has specific functions and responsibilities they all form part of the wider quality assurance arrangements for the directorate.

The service area includes the following services:

  • Independent Reviewing Officer Service
  • Safeguarding Children Board
  • Child Sexual Exploitation Officer
  • Missing Children Team
  • Social Care Complaints
  • Placements Team

Vision

Our vision is a city where every child and young person can enjoy their childhood in a warm and supporting environment, free from poverty and safe from harm; a city where every child grows up to achieve their full potential (Taken from the Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP)).

Our service area vision is to provide a framework which supports services to achieve the best outcomes for vulnerable children/families and promotes a cycle of continuous improvement.
