Go Jauntly - Walking Trails Across Nottingham

Supported by the Active Travel Fund, Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service (NCVS) have partnered with health and wellness company Go Jauntly, to deliver a series of new walks in Nottingham.

Go Jauntly is a free walking app designed to help people wander outside of their normal surroundings and reconnect with nature. Residents and visitors will be able to try more than ten miles of walking routes across Nottingham. The app provides a range of short walks from a gentle 30-minute walk around Broxtowe Country Park to a Canalside walk to Stonebridge City Farm. The Nottingham routes have been planned with accessibility in mind with easy-to-follow directions which avoid steps and steep inclines in addition to being buggy accessible.

As well as discovering existing routes, users can create their own, add their own photos and share their creations with others. The app, which includes tips on nearby points of interest, places to eat and public toilets, is available to download for free on the App store or Google Play.

The walks on Go Jauntly form part of the wider Travel Well programme. The programme aims to help support people to walk and cycle more for a healthier life. Travel Well is led by Nottingham City Council in partnership with the Nottingham Place-based Partnership, Nottingham Community and Voluntary Service and Nottingham City GP Alliance as part of a national trial. Using Government funding, the trial will see social prescriptions, including walking and cycling, offered by GPs as part of a plan to improve mental and physical health and reduce health inequalities. Activities will take place around Aspley, Beechdale, Bilborough, Bulwell, Sneinton, St Ann’s and Strelley.
